LifeLock and TransUnion Enter Into an Identity Theft Prevention AgreementPosted by Collin Eli in Untagged |

On December 17th LifeLock and TransUnion agreed to work together to streamline and improve their relationship. A global leader in credit and information management, TransUnion is bringing its expertise in automated credit management system to bear in working with Lifelock’s identity theft protection services. Together, companies will develop a rapid method for processing fraud alerts and opt outs delivered through LifeLock’s identity theft prevention service.
LifeLock CEO Todd Davis said, "While we have been growing our company by providing a strong layer of defense against identity theft, we have been looking to develop a business solution with the credit bureaus that takes advantage of leading technology and provides our members with a process unchallenged in our industry."
"We believe in empowering consumers through education and choice," said Mark Marinko, TransUnion president of Consumer Services. "This effort will help ensure that regardless of whether consumers choose to manage their own credit directly through the services TransUnion provides or authorize LifeLock to handle those kinds of responsibilities on their behalf, their requests and personal information will be handled in a highly efficient and secure manner."
Now that LifeLock and TransUnion are working together, LifeLock becomes an even more valuable service for consumers. Previously, LifeLock’s efforts on behalf of consumers faced some difficulties as credit bureaus struggled to adapt to requests from LifeLock representatives.
LifeLock is perhaps best known through the fact that CEO Todd Davis publicizes his real Social Security Number to demonstrate confidence in his company’s services. Read our review of Lifelock and other ID theft prevention services to see how they stack up against one another.
